Rear bulk head panel

How do you know if there is a rear bulk head access panel in my plane? Can you see it from the outside?

Rear panel

Kevin, on the back wall of the cabin remove the wall covering and you will expose the door. This permits easier work on the alternator, mags and starter.

Jackson this coming Saturday morning?

Kevin,

Yes, you have one on that year airplane. You cannot see it without removing the plastic covering on the rear wall of your cabin, as well as the insulation layer (you have to get to bare aluminum to see it), but your year model has it, I am sure. Your mechanic will be very very happy that it is there, magneto maintenance is a royal pain without it.

Kevin,

Not sure that the access panel will be much use to you to replace a rear vac pump - it's located fairly high on the engine and the access panel is right in front of the rear alternator, and the mags are above that!

You (or your mechanic) might gain better access by removing the top of the rear cowl instead!

Cheers,

Rear firewall door

Kevin,
I have the 337H model, basicly the same as your G model. The door is good for alternator work. The door is about 1 foot square right in front of alternator.
