Difference in TSIO engines

Can anyone tell me the difference between a TSIO360CB5B and a TSIO360C TCM engine for SkyMasters?

I'd say "B5B"...but that's probably less than helpful.

Other than it is kind-of-funny it doesn't help much----but you are right, that is a difference.

Might help a little

Airpower doesn't even list a "C" model. The first one listed is a "CB3B"

Thanks Herb! I should have looked in the more obvious place for this information.

Tsio 360c

There is a TSIO 360C. It is the same as the TSIO 360A, except rated at 225 HP instead of 210 HP, and has provisions for presurization.

TSIO 360 CB is an upgraded TSIO 360C with a modified crank shaft.

I don't know what the "5B" connotates.

Thanks Mark, are you or anyone aware of any reason a TSIO360CB would not work in replacing a TSIO360C?? in a Pressurized 1973 T337G. The ONLY differences I can find is the heavier crank and a beefed up crankcase?

I'm pretty sure I did just exactly that about 10 years ago, when we discovered an unrepairable crack in the crankcase of my rear engine. My airplane is also a 1973 T337G pressurized, aka P337. It still meets all of the specifications of the Type Data Sheet. It still is exactly the same "form factor", same HP, same rpm, same accessories.

I can double check my logs the next time I go to the airport if you like.

Thanks Mark, if you don't mind checking the next time you are there I would appreciate it. I will post pictures in a couple of day of the crack we discovered in the crankshaft at the prob hub. I am trying to buy a CB to replace the engine.

Sorry it took me so long to check, but I do in fact have a TSIO 360C6 engine on my 73 P337. It happens to be a Rolls Royce made under license from TCM.

Thanks Mark, we have decided to "go with the devil we have" rather than buy another used engine. with that said we are in the middle of a Major on our front engine. Do you or does any one else know a source for the Brush Blocks for the anti- ice system for the front prop on a 73 pressurized T337G? I am told they were/are made by B.F.Goodrich??
