As a note, you did well with the amp draw! For those of you without the Maintenance Manual, I have the '74 through '80; my '77 G is 4.3 amps! '74 through '76 is 2.2 (close enough), the '78 is 2.9, and the '79 & '80 is back to 2.2. Well done, Dan!

Hi Dan,

I own a 1973 C337G Sky Master, N1873M s/n 33701473. My pitot heat recently has ceased to function. Do you still sell your pitot heat kit as well as the thermostat/heat sensor? If so, what is your current price for all and how do I order? I also sent you an email at the address you posted.

I will see my IA mechanic tomorrow to discuss installing your kit if you have availability.

Sincerely,

Ed Asmus

Thank you,

For those interested, this kit works very well. Get the thermostat at the same time.

PH502 24 volt heated pitot (used ebay)

I know I had mine replaced years ago, and it was under $300 new.
My my, how time flies....

Just curious: Would these work on older 337's, albeit used?

Dan schultz 05-07-22 03:50 PM

The flexible heater is universal for pressurized and no pressurized aircraft. Two different sets of holes.

Pitot heater test

Updating databases, a mech left the pitot heat on, w pitot cover.
Roasted the cover nicely.
Confirmed functioning …for now.

So is the problem the stainless pitot housing, or some thermostat in between?

Dan schultz 05-07-22 08:57 PM

The kit is for the pitot inside the left strut cover, not for the regular style pitot.

I'm still a bit green about some of these things; does this mean it isn't the right kit for my (seemingly) stock, N/A '69 D?

edasmus 05-12-22 09:27 AM

I received my kit from Dan. All is as advertised and well organized. My shop liked what they saw. The kit will now sit on my shelf until August when my airplane goes in for it's annual inspection. It will be installed then and I will report back then on our anticipated success.

Thanks again Dan....
