I guess we've arrived. When you earn enough, you can now buy an O-2A in Grand Theft Auto 5.

This video is from the game. Have you seen a Skymaster take out a 747 and the Goodyear Blimp in one flight?

Its mostly dumb video game stuff with some R rated language, so don't follow the link if easily offended.

In the pics I uploaded, notice the patch on the pilot's flight suit, and the armament loadout written on the right front near the cowl.

The opening scene is right out of the latest action movie, trying to take off in your O-2 while being shot at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0K6fqYJYW6c:cool:

Interesting that they chose a 337 dressed up like an O-2 for their model.

My guess is they lifted the basic design from Flightsim X (or some other flight sim) and just repainted and added wing stores. The markings are very accurate. They have the black version O-2A on there as well.

Kinda similar, I saw on youtube yesterday that Caranado is working on the cessna 337 model for MSFS 2020. I am really looking forward to that being released.

I could use a couple of sets of those rocket pods for my O-2. Anybody know of some for sale by chance?

The O2-A was mainly known for firing "Willie Pete" white phosphorous smoke rockets in Nam to mark targets for fast movers, but they also had a rarely used Armor Piercing rocket loadout that crew chiefs called "Hot 28 AP". This loadout was used extensively in the Rhodesian conflict. It provided four rocket pods with 7 rockets, each armed with 10 lbs of armor-peircing high explosive. May not sound like much, but I wouldn't want to be nearby when it blows.

I've been told the "Hot 28" loadout was frequently requested by O2-A pilots, but it was denied, the brass couldn't have $25k (1968 prices) Cessnas doing what a $1MM fighter bomber could do. The optics would be poor.
