337 Insurance

Has anyone had trouble getting insurance renewal. My agent called saying 5 of the places he requested quotes from will not insure 337 Cessna because they are getting to old. Dale Campbell

I have had no problem with Falcon insurance.

Are you EAA member? They use Falcon and I have enjoyed working with them the last few years. Another option is ARM in Michigan, call Brian and tell him you talked to me

Hi Dale,

I have not had any issues whatsoever to date. (13 years now and counting) I have been using a broker in Ohio since day one. The company is SkySurance Aviation Insurance Brokers and the president is Thomas A. Dus. He is a pilot flying I believe a C210. Phone is 800-545-3262.

My insurance quotes have been slightly lowering year by year with this year coming in at $2096. This is for a 1973G model hull value of $90,000, 1,000,000 liability with $100,000 per passenger as well as e few other minor additions.

I will be up for renewal this fall and I am not anticipating any issues but I suppose we'll see.

So far, so good!

Good Luck,

Ed

P 337 Insurance

Regarding insurance renewals:

Are most of you who fly the P 337 required by the insurance companies to do a recurrent Annually?

And if so, who do you use?

Thanks.

I had several insurance companies that weren't interested because it was a Skymaster. Some of whom wouldn't even return my phone call for a quote!
A lot of them want to see über high amounts of time on type.

Andrea Van Buren of Lance Toland Associates is a rock star. She looked through a dozen different underwriters and got me the best deal she could.

Wasn't uncommon to get an email from her at 9pm.

I recommend her highly.

As for training, I did a formal course in Van Nuys CA with Mike Killian, in his [beautiful] pressurized 337 Riley Rocket. He issued me a letter/certificate stating same. The insurance folks really love seeing that sort of thing.

Leighton:

Thank you. That is great information. I wish I was closer to California... But then again, I may just make a trip just to get transition training with Corsair...

I am based out of Miami FL.
