How do you mount your tablet in your Skymaster?

Would love to see some pics of mounting solutions for tablets in the Skymaster.

My old RAM mount used a suction cup to the window, which worked OK in a Bonanza, but doesn't look feasible in a Skymaster.

I see several yoke-mount products, but my tablet is large, much bigger than an Ipad Mini. I'm not sure if it will work in that location.

Any other suggestions out there?

Please represent with some pics!

I found this thread after I posted my question. It seems the yoke mount is the go-to setup for the Skymaster: http://www.337skymaster.com/messages...t=tablet+mount

Anybody doing something different, please feel free to chime in.

I may have a Samsung Note 10.1 tablet for sale if it won't fit the yoke (fully loaded with Avare, including up-to-date IFR & VFR charts).

Thanks for the pic! Looks like you're covering up some instruments. Do you have a shot from the pilot's viewpoint?

I remove the mount if I’m flying hard IFR and need a 2nd CDI. It only covers up my Nav2 VOR needle. It’s a great mount and keep the iPad cool.

I use an iPad Mini and I've got it in a Ram suction mount on the windshield right above the storm window. Works great for me so far. Only complaint is the cigarette lighter is over on the copilot's side, so I've got to run a cord across the cockpit if I want to plug in to ship's power.

One of the many little things I'm plugging away at on the new bird.

I believe the window set-up is a little different on the P-models. I couldn't seem to find a good spot for my suction mount, but I was also using a 10" tablet. An Ipad Mini may have fit.

I've been an Android/Avare user for years, but I'm considering buying a Mini and a Foreflight subscription, mainly for the icing level visible forecast products, and the additional ADS-B weather it displays in flight, such as lightning strikes. Avare only displays NEXRAD as an overlay. When FIS-B was updated in 2018 to include several new weather products, Avare never integrated them. Foreflight did, as you would expect a paid option to do.

I would buy Garmin Pilot, as it has very similar features to Foreflight, but BY DESIGN Garmin Pilot won't talk to my Stratux ADS-B in box. They want me to buy their $1100 product, when Stratux does the exact same job for $200, and plays nicely with Foreflight. Your proprietary ways are eventually going to kill you, Garmin - You will go the way of the Betamax if you continue to build products that require expensive, proprietary solutions.

I'm not familiar with the window arrangement on the P model, but regardless I don't think a full-size iPad would work in my spot. With the suction mount and the X-mount attached to it, there is just enough room between the window and the dash for the Mini.

I've been using Foreflight for years, and even on a basic subscription it is the best money I've ever spent on flying. Lately I've been using it in conjunction with Sirius XM, and having the real-time weather feeds is fantastic.

Well since you Canucks have no free ADS-B weather, SiriusXM is the only choice. It is a better weather product, no doubt, but the improvements are too marginal for me to justify spending $50/month on another subscription. Not to mention having to shell out for an XM receiver.

At the end of the day, its hard to beat "FREE"! :D

I use an iPad Air (A1954) and a yoke mount.

I like landscape, but mount also swivels to portrait mode.

Here is my setup. Like I said the only downside is having to run the power cord across to the copilot's side for ship's power.

However, that is about to change this winter once the flying season is done
