Instruction/Centerline Rating in Texas

Is there anyone in Texas who does this ? All I can find online are various simulator based outfits for initial and recurrent.

I'm looking for a few hours to help me decide if I "really" want a 337.

Cheers,

Mark

Mark,

My CFI can give you 337 instruction. The nearest examiner we could locate is near Baton Rouge. One of the difficulties with a 337 is finding a CFI and an examiner for the ME CLT.

I would be glad to take you up in my 1965 337. Have had it for a few months and am very happy with it. Based at CXO. You can email me at brian@nmrpetrophysics.com

When I lived there, my O-2A was based at CXO, along with several other 337's. Now I guess Jim H is all that is left with his '69 "D" model in the north T hangars.

So far I've heard from T51 and CXO -- Brian is your CFI @ CXO also ?

I let you know how it goes !

Cheers,

Mark

I think I met Jim, if he has the one painted like an O2. I think we are the only two 337s there now.

Mark, my CFI lives near DWH but he is fine with driving to CXO or SGR I think.

Brian,
you can go to MVP Aero Academy at Weiser Airpark (EYQ), and get your multi rating in a Beech Duchess in a week or so. I just did it and they were quite accomodating, reasonably priced too I might add. This will save wear and tear on your plane, plus you won't be limited to centerline thrust. Just my .02, but this was a pretty smooth deal from my standpoint. Tell Anderson and Nico hello for me if you stop by. They also have a campus at CXO I believe, if that is more convienient.

Jeff, thanks for that. After going thru the hassle of locating and coordinating with a 337 centerline thrust qualified examiner, I was thinking I should have done just what you said and gotten a regular multi rating. But on the other hand I did want to build 337 time in my plane. So in the end it worked out.

Cheers;

Brian
