5th Seat Help
 

Will the rear seat from a 1966 337A fit in the 5th seat position on a 1976 P337G ? If any one know of a 5th seat for a P337G please let me know

How do I reach Don?

Spoke to Don and he said the seat from the 66 will not work the 5th seat for the P model is not attached the same. Thanks for the info.

P-Model Seating
 

The P-model 5th seat option includes two upholstered cushions, one for the actual seat that has a metal sub-structure with a deep contoured and angled foam cushion that fastens with velcro strips to the floor carpet; and another verticle foam cushion that attaches to the back firewall with velcro strips... there are NO rails like in the six-seat normally aspirated "G" model, or the pre-1973 Skymasters. The only rails on the P-models are the ones for the pilot and co-pilot. The safety belt which is anchored to the floor at the aft most position where the floor and the rear firewall meet keeps the PAX and the seat assembly firmly in position.

As for the middle or center section seats on the P-models, from 1973 through 1975, Cessna utilized a folding seat arrangement where the entire seat assembly folded up against the side of the cabin opposite the door. With this set-up there is no forward of aft adjustment of the center seating... it remains stationary.

Beginning with 1976 models through the end of production in 1980, the center seat 'floated' on rails attached to the side of the cabin structure. The nice thing about this feature is that with a simple pull-up on a lever positioned between the two center seats, the entire center section can be adjusted anywhere along the side rails, stowed completely out of the way against the rear firewall, or completely removed. If you're carrying bulky items or have PAX with long legs, the rear seat PAX can stretch out and really enjoy the ride.
