How long does it take?

I just espent, 2.5 hours taking the left brake cilinder from behind the left pedal and replacing it (with suppervision from the IA). it is very tight quarters in there. the reason why I did it was because the mechanic had done the job the week before, but the break did not work still. they had bought a replacement Break cilinder and tried to istall it but it did not work. I have not recived the invoice from the FBO yet but the secretary sayed that the Mechanic had loged 16 Hours on that job. I feel there may be some negociating in the near future.

Does any one out there has a Book of hours for calculating the times it take to work on the aircraft?.

Thanks

Flat Rate

I have never seen a "Flat Rate" book for aircraft but I would never charge more than 3 hours for that job, so if you want to fly to Perry (F22) Oklahoma, I will be glad to replace it for you. HA, HA

Master Cylinder R & R

Francisco,

Your 2.5 hours wasn't too far out of line. The 'official' Cessna Removal And Installation Labor Allowances manual {Part Number D5433-13 - RAND - 8/76} specifies the following times for the brakes:

Brake Assembly (Each): 1.0 Hr
Cylinder, Brake (Each): 1.5 Hr
Master Cylinder (Each): 2.0 Hr

These times are appliable to both the 337 and P337 series.

Yep, it's tight in there... and I'll bet you cussed that baby several times!

Thanks Skyking,

what takes so long is the cutter pin on the tight side, plus it (WAS A HOT AND HUMID DAY) Like it allways is this time of year here in Biloxi.

I sure would love to get one of thouse books
