DPE in the northeast?

Hi all--hope this is the right section for this.

I'm looking for a Skymaster-qualified DPE in the northeast--preferably in southern New England.
Any references?

Thanks.

DPE in the northeast?

I know a DPE with Skymaster experience in Jamestown, NY, Jamestown is located in the far southwest corner of NY state,if that helps? I used him just last month, he charges $500. If you would like his contact information send me a email at bstory@pa.rr.com.
Regards, BILLS

Thanks for that. Might need that if I can't find anyone nearby who's willing to put the hours in for CLT.

What exactly does a DPE have to do to qualify for testing CLT anyway?

DPE in the northeast?

From what I was told, the DPE has to be current and have 5 hours in type. If you use this DPE PLEASE be sure your up on the ACS maneuvers and DON'T FORGET CLEARING TURNS!! I busted it twice and now I have to go Nashville Tn, fly with a new CFI and then use a new DPE in Charleston, WV, and take the whole check ride OVER.
Good luck. BILLS

Wow. That's brutal. Sorry to hear it. And thanks for the reminder.

It's going to be really difficult to find a DPE for CLT and this is why I have suggested to go get your AMEL rating in a standard twin engine aircraft. This can be done at almost any medium sized flight school. Then you're good to go. The only requirement would be to meet the insurance needs by flying with a qualified Skymaster CFI or mentored by a Skymaster pilot.

I understand that there are some out there that don't want a standard twin rating and just want to seek the CLT limitation. I can appreciate that all the VMC isn't needed for what you desire to do but the market is not going to be very friendly for the CLT only rating, if not pretty much impossible. Pull teeth or just brush up for the AMEL transition

Just my own humble opinion...................

Brad Newman DPE @ 16G (Tiffin, OH) with Tiffin Aire will do a Checkride in your Skymaster if you don’t have your multi. He’s done a lot of CLT ratings. It’ll be about $600 for the Checkride.
